Everyone is told that these bulbs are a great energy saving alternative to incandescent light bulbs. They are. They can use up to 75% less energy than traditional bulbs and we are encouraged to use them.
So what’s “the rest of the story?”
The bulbs contain a small amount of mercury (about 5 mg), which is a HAZARDOUS COMPOUND.
The same product that helps them energy efficient also makes them a UNIVERSAL WASTE when it’s time for disposal.
CFLs can’t go in the trash!!!
They have to go to a Household Hazardous Waste facility. How about that!
I wonder about all the sprays and creams and products we’ve used over the years.
Perhaps there is plenty of reason to understand the number of cancer patients - and other maladies that have come up in this 21st century!

There has been such a wonderful response to the sale of the relaxation CD’s, that as a thank you, I am offering (until December 10th) TWO for the price of one! SERIOUSLY, I love the fact people are willing to begin to change their lives for the better. STRESS IS A KILLER - physically and mentally!
Buy one for a peer in the office, someone at school, granny, perhaps someone recovering from an illness or even a major heart surgery (YES-it has helped men who never thought about “learning” to relax!)
These relaxation CD’s can change lives. If you don’t know what to get someone this is the gift that keeps on giving….Literally….25% of the sales will be donated to the Disabled American Veterans!
Life doesn’t have to be “critical” all the time. We can change the world by changing the stress level of the world - one person at a time! If you just don’t know what to get - GET THIS CD! Besides, where can you get two cool gifts for this price. Regularly $14.95 each, you get two for the price of one. That makes each CD reasonable for a gift - and if you care about the person at all - a very thoughtful gift!
Three relaxations, beautiful music, and easy instructions. What are you waiting for now?
Will be shipped same day and NO SHIPPING charges. Simply email mo@jett.net or go to the website address on the cover picture.

I’ve been a fitness trainer for more years than I will declare. I know all the diets, all the exercises, all the motivating factors. What I am finding TODAY is that with body changes,
it’s much more difficult to keep a trim body…..healthy yes, I know what to do! But I am
having trouble “trimming” back my foods and need some outside motivation.
I have seen hundreds of people change their lives and hope I have been instrumental in helping in some small way. I have given away as much as I can to help others. I try daily with my stress management magic website to share with others. Now I am asking for INPUT please. Get me motivated. Give me some thoughts outside the realm of MY WORLD.
and……….thank you with all my heart!

It struck me several days ago and “it” has been nagging me ever since. Why do I blog. I am not asking you. I am asking myself.
On the positive side:
It is a podium to speak my peace.
It is a way to share what I believe will help others.
It is a form of recreation. I love to write.
It is a way to communicate with others.
It is fun to get comments (and give them too).
It is fun to read other blogs.
On the negative side:
I am sure sitting on my ass isn’t as healthy as a walk.
I wonder if I would even be missed if I quit writing. Maybe I should find a gig writing for cash.
I think perhaps I should be out there actually doing something for a real live human as opposed
to writing for my invisible audience…which could amount to a few regulars and some passer-bys.
I think my writing may not be controversial enough or nasty enough to attract lots of people.
I haven’t sold one CD or book - projects I TRULY believe in (at least NOT on the internet.)
So now I ponder. Similar to Shakespeare - “To write, or not to write…that is the question!

I know summer is almost over, but here is some information that could save lives if stranded in the water….
If you are far from help and need to sustain yourself DON’T try to swim to shore. Swimming accelerates heat loss….which can cause hypothermia (dangerously low body temperature). Try to
stay still, with legs together, and arms as close to your sides as possible.
Hopefully if you find yourself in this position you will have a life jacket on! This is a great time to have extra body weight as larger people cool down slower, which could help save your life.
Learn to float on your back. Learn to swim and dog paddle. Learn to keep that life jacket on!
Be SAFE and at least keep your children with life saving gear on at all times if you are boating.
I won’t be posting again until Friday or Saturday as I am a bit buried with paperwork that needs to be done one day, and my “kayak urge” which needs to be filled the other:). In the meantime, take a breath, enjoy the moments of your life. They pass quickly. Hug someone!

I recently came across these facts and found them quite interesting…was familiar with some
of them, but not “specific” numbers. Hope you enjoy!
Did you know…..
1. Your heart beat about 2,649,024,000 times in your life if you live until 70?
2. Your vascular system pumps 50,000,000 of blood and oxygen in you live
until you are seventy.
3. People own over 75 million handguns in the USA alone.
4. The Bible is still the best selling book. Has sold 2,500,000,000 since
1815! That’s a lot of books.
5. Each person in the USA (in 1996) ate approximately 145.2 pounds of potatoes.
6. There are 60,000 miles of blood vessels in a human being.
7. An adult heart weighs only about 11 ounces and has the capacity to
work effectively for over 100 years.
8. In 1995 there were 960,592 people who died from cardiovascular disease. A huge portion of this number was from “preventable” causes.
9.We are a species wired for survival, yet a large percentage of us get in the habit of getting hooked on things that can literally kill us.
10. There are over 18 million people in the USA alone who have an addiction to alcohol.

Even if it’s you! (Of course this isn’t me.) It is my darling husband who sometimes doesn’t want
to kayak because the boat has no motor - it’s a guy thing:)…..but after he gets out there he regenerates and is ALWAYS glad he made the effort.
We were meant to move and when I stop, I will be dead! Have a wonderful weekend and move that body. You also create what is known as endorphins. They are a natural high by using your oxygen and moving…honest! You can’t overdose, it’s not illegal, but ask anyone who knows about endorphins-they rock!

This world is OURS. Please help it by simply taking a trash bag with you when you go outside to enjoy nature. The lake close to my home is still so clean you can see underwater perfectly. However, in the winter the scene is pristine. In the summer when thousands of people visit, it turns into a big trash dump.
For Instance, which scene would you prefer? Fuzzy ducks or trash on water?
or

A scene simply of nature, or empty beer cans and trash littered along the way?
Yesterday I saw both. That wasn’t the worst! Paper plates strewn all over along with toilet paper everywhere. Someone had even thrown a roll of it so it was hanging from a tree branch. No excuse.
Bathrooms are provided in various places - at the worst scenario you could be responsible for your own mess and trash it too! Dump the sack of “leftovers” in one
of the dumpsters provided.
If you think that is an icky thought, think about your child or even yourself breezing
through the woods and stepping into a huge outdoor outhouse. YUK!
Please have a little decency for the rest of the world.

CHANGE is the ONLY thing we can be sure of in this old world. Say flexible, enjoy each moment, and try to relax about “things”. 90% of what we spend so many hours worrying about never comes to fruition! Honest.
CREATE a beautiful day for yourself and those in YOUR world. I hope your day will be splendid!
