It’s a crazy world :)
July 29, 2007I go kayaking to be close to nature, the quiet, the water and the woods. What did I find as I came into dock?
Birds have opted to take over the frame for a sun cover on a houseboat instead of nestling in the trees of the surrounding woods. I had to laugh.
Of course I bet the owners of this very expensive houseboat won’t be quite so amused. I could just visualize what is happening to the deck and tables and chairs below the birds. Yuk.
Being the kind person I am
I tried to shoo the birds away (not that they wouldn’t return anyway) , but they wouldn’t budge! Oh well, I tried.
Help!
July 28, 2007This world is OURS. Please help it by simply taking a trash bag with you when you go outside to enjoy nature. The lake close to my home is still so clean you can see underwater perfectly. However, in the winter the scene is pristine. In the summer when thousands of people visit, it turns into a big trash dump.
For Instance, which scene would you prefer? Fuzzy ducks or trash on water?

A scene simply of nature, or empty beer cans and trash littered along the way?
Yesterday I saw both. That wasn’t the worst! Paper plates strewn all over along with toilet paper everywhere. Someone had even thrown a roll of it so it was hanging from a tree branch. No excuse.
Bathrooms are provided in various places - at the worst scenario you could be responsible for your own mess and trash it too! Dump the sack of “leftovers” in one
of the dumpsters provided.
If you think that is an icky thought, think about your child or even yourself breezing
through the woods and stepping into a huge outdoor outhouse. YUK!
Please have a little decency for the rest of the world.
I would NEVER allow my big dog …….
July 26, 2007POOP PATROL
July 26, 2007I think the city I live in is missing a sure bet. I am disgusted by people pigs!
For instance: Clover Creek Preserve. It’s a fairly new place in my town to walk the dog, run, or ride bikes. A sanctuary for birds and people. At the fence to enter there are ALWAYS bags available to take with you so you can scoop up any mess your dog may leave.
A week ago I walked the preserve. I was amazed and disgusted that I counted over 60 piles of poop right next to the pathways. I didn’t start out to do that, but I was curious to see how many pigs walk their dogs.
Today I chose to go back for a bike ride. By the way, I have a dog and I clean up after him. That’s part of my responsibility as a dog owner and good citizen of Redding.
I was again stunned by the piles of poop left behind. Now this preserve isn’t in a bad part of town. Most of the usage is by folks who live within walking distance, though I am not blaming them totally. I see usually five or six cars parked in the parking lot. I am sure the river trail and other walkways suffer the same problem, and not just in my town!
This morning the poop was left right in the middle of the dirt pathway and the asphalt path as well. Big piles of poop.
So here is my idea. Why can’t the city hire a few people to go on poop patrol? (Maybe they could even find volunteers). They could ride a bike, wear a hat stating who they are, or perhaps sit on one of the benches with binoculars.
When they spot a pig letting their dog go poop, and don’t pick it up, they are given a ticket and a fine. Littering is a huge fine. Why not leaving fecal matter disgracefully on sidewalks and pathways provided for resident’s enjoyment.
Four piles of poop, say $250.00 per pile and within minutes the city earns $1,000.00. With just what I counted within a week, if people were ticketed for being pigs, the city could take in $16,000.00! Any problem with that?
This is also written for those pigs who let their children take a poop in ourl local lakes, and leave dirty diapers on the ground! They should have to pay a fine and get a swift kick in the butt too.
It probably won’t happen, but just to reiterate: I THINK PEOPLE WHO ARE PIGS SHOULDN’T WALK THEIR DOGS ON PUBLIC WALKWAYS. STAY HOME AND LET THE POOP COLLECT FLIES AND NASTY VARMINTS IN YOUR OWN SPACE.
How would you like it if just 64 of those who follow the rules brought their dogs to your house and used it for a poop depository?
GROW UP PEOPLE AND TAKE A BIT OF RESPONSIBILITY. We all live in this world and have to share the space!
On a budget? Check this out.
July 25, 2007My darling daughter (married to my eldest son) gave me a great idea. She fixed us some really delicious oriental soup. I asked for the recipe. It was yummy and if the packaging had been deposited in the circular file, no one would ever know it was just an inexpensive creation.
Top raman. Okay, I like it too, but this is way cool.
Put about 6 cups of water into a big pot. Add noodles (when boiling) and spices that come with it. Also add, if you favor a HOT soup, some of those dried red peppers.
When the noodles are cooked then add bok choy, or cabbage, even different kinds of lettuce will do. You have a fantastic bowl of noodles.
If you NEED meat, add pork or an inexpensive meat that will give you what you want. Honestly, I would NEVER have known it was simply top ramen if she hadn’t told me!
It is 10 packages for a buck and not much more for the other stuff. What a great idea.
Thank you my precious Belen!

July 24, 2007CHANGE is the ONLY thing we can be sure of in this old world. Say flexible, enjoy each moment, and try to relax about “things”. 90% of what we spend so many hours worrying about never comes to fruition! Honest.
CREATE a beautiful day for yourself and those in YOUR world. I hope your day will be splendid!
Take this day to regenerate and relax!
July 22, 2007Whether you are with someone, have children, or are alone - it’s all good! Find a spot where you can take a breath and regenerate. Teach your children to learn to relax. It will ultimately help them in school and prior to tests!
If you are alone, take time to reflect, renew, relax and regenerate. Remember: You are never alone. My life has taught me, in no uncertain terms, that there is a Creator - an artist of infinite magnitude. He is with you and will empower you. If you seek Him, He will find you! (Einstein: “Ethical axioms are found and tested not very differently from the axioms of science. Truth is what stands the test of experience.”)
CREATE a wonderful day, and if you aren’t in a place that reflects eye candy, I hope you enjoy this photo. From Blog Land - I love you too! We are human brothers and sisters, are we not
Earthquake update
July 21, 20076.0 in Bolivia, 6.1 in Brazil today. Can you see the pattern? Beginning with Japan’s 6.6, then to the sea of Japan 6.8, south to Fiji 6.1, south of Fiji 6.1 - now round the ring of fire to south America with these two today. Let’s see how far the theory goes. Remember though, California is ALWAYS shaking with sometimes a hundred or more every day. Also Alaska rock and rolls every day. The small quakes are good as they release pressure (or so I’ve been told by an actual seismologist.)
