gull-2.jpg

I see God in everything.

When the immense waves of water dance onto the shore, and the the echo of crashing waves sing loudly in my ears. When a child laughs and wiggles his toes in the cool sand. When the gulls fly circular celebrating the air currents and they swiftly dart around each other.

I see God.

When a puppy is born. When a child learns to make those first independent steps towards someone. When mama looks at me from the face of an elderly woman who has loved me all my days, and she loves me still, even after all my folly.

I see God.

We seek self-realization . We seek joy. Seek God first and He will fill your every need and desire. Give love to Him and your love will abound, and you will see God too.

100 square miles of solar Panels in the desert…..

May 30, 2007

….could provide enough energy for the entire USA! At least that is what an HBO documentary called “Too hot to Handle” reiterated. It was an awesome and informative show and if you ever get a chance to see it - take the time to do so.

The warming of the earth is festered by this: The phenomenon whereby the earth’s atmosphere traps solar radiation, caused by the presence in the atmosphere of gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, and methane that allow incoming sunlight to pass through but absorb heat radiated back from the earth’s surface.

I lay much of the blame of this mess the earth on our manufacturers and corporations. We can be told on a daily basis what to do to help correct the earth’s woes right now, but until these folks stop producing their share of greenhouse gases ( gases, such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, tropospheric ozone, nitrous oxide, and methane, that are transparent to solar radiation but opaque to longwave radiation. Their action is similar to that of glass in a greenhouse), we are literally screwed!

“Buy hybrid cars, recycle, etc.” Get real. Not everyone can afford a hybrid car. Why do manufacturers keep building car, after car, after car, after car - if they want us to keep our driving to a minimum?

Why do manufacturers keep putting 5 pills in a gigantic plastic container - and putting out tons of items (water bottles, mayo bottles, a etc.) in plastic containers!

Turn our air conditioners up, turn the lights off……..surely there is no waste of energy between the multi-billion dollars conglomerates in the USA. Just like no one is out of work because the corporations have moved to China, Mexico, Taiwan, Laos, etc. etc. to hire CHEAP labor.

We are told to change our ways and use less gas. Do congressmen? Do our politicians? Here’s a question I don’t know the answer to, and would like to know. If you know, kindly let me know. 1. Do jets cause emissions that are deadly to our planet? I really don’t know. If you know, please share that information with us.

I do know that old school buses do - but most school districts can little afford
new buses. The pressure to drive MORE is enhanced by the advertisers. Don’t you think the upcoming generation wants to have their own fast sports car?

Let’s cut down more of the rain forests for the almighty dollar. We are literally
killing our own oxygen supply. I don’t mean you or me. I mean the big money people.

There. I have voiced a few thoughts on some subjects that are relevant to
our lives. What do you think? Anyone out there have something to share?

Now I am going to take a deep breath and relax a bit. Talking about concerns, getting it out, always helps an individual to feel better. It’s better to discuss things than to implode…..and who knows, in discussion perhaps a resolve will manifest.

Life

May 29, 2007

It is strange, very definitely. Every time something comes up and I have to do something I THINK I don’t want to do, but do it anyway, I seem to get more in the long run. It’s so funny how that works.

I guess we are all basically pretty selfish. It’s hard to be flexible enough to change according to “what happens.” But guess what? Every time I have been forced (because I am a good person, or because it’s the right thing to do, or because I seem to have no choice) things ALWAYS work out for the best! It’s amazing.

I believe if we always follow the rules of unconditional love, and give sometimes even when it hurts, we are ALWAYS rewarded for following one simple and basic premise - LOVE.

Love if you don’t feel like it, love if it’s not what you particularly had planned, love until it hurts…..and just passed that moment, in walks character; in walks strength; the door is opened to a vast array of new choices in life.

The key is LOVE! With love must come service, service to one another. We are all here to love and serve one another, in my prospective. We are all just a reflection of our inner most thoughts and our actions.

When we decide finally to give up a little, we actually give to ourselves. An amazing progression of human character manifests. Hope arises. The hope that someone, in our time of tribulation, or the tribulations of those we love, someone will in turn, give to us in the name of love.

Without fail the premise works. Don’t ask for a guarantee. If your choice is right and is based in love, if you act according to your heart and natural instinct (you must listen for the instinctive gifts) - YOU CANNOT FAIL. This is a no fail plan! Trust me :)

Just a beautiful day

Today was one of those days when all the love and effort you have tried to impart over the years paid off. It was one of those days, when the child you have ever so adored looked directly into your eyes, and you knew, she knew……

She said “I love you.” But this was one of those times she REALLY knew your efforts and
unconditional, non-judgmental love is real. That though you are mom and have made obvious and awful mistakes, your love is now recognized in the deepest realms of her being and she knows!

She knows beyond the grappling of her efforts to be completely emancipated and become totally an adult; she knows beyond the assertiveness she must maintain in blossoming youthful wisdom; she knows beyond a growing self-esteem; she knows beyond the moment of indiscretion…

She knows you love her beyond words and will always be there for her with unrelenting, ever-growing love. A love for just who she is and who she is becoming; regardless of circumstance.

Yes, it was one of those days that made the more than six thousand, five hundred and seventy “plus” days you have loved her so very, very special. SHE KNOWS!

MEMORIAL HOLIDAY ADVICE: BE SAFE. BE SMART. BE MODERATE. This Memorial Day weekend is just that - a Memorial to honor the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service of their country. We pay tribute to them this Memorial weekend. Don’t forget to say a prayer for their Spirits or honor them in whatever way you choose.

Do not dishonor this time by drinking and driving. We don’t want to have an unnecessary memorial for you and your passengers, or innocent bystanders. THINK before you drink…..because after, your vision and thoughts may be blurred.
Be honest about this fact. You know it’s true! Have fun and save lives.

$100 billion for continuing war costs

May 25, 2007

WAIT JUST A MINUTE. Let me expound on a few things that this money might be spent on. Disregarding the fact war is hell, it is stupid, people are dying for nothing, and it never resolves anything, let these facts settle in your thoughts for a moment.

I know “Relax, it’s just Life!” is my blog - but if you never voice an opinion, if you never state your philosophy, if you never deal with the problems at hand, you will never be able to relax. So let’s be honest.

We invest billions of dollars around the world, but our own USA is deteriorating in critical time. Our cities have poor, if not terrible public transit. Our airports are very crowded and inefficient. We are so far behind other countries in rail transportation; it is humiliating. Our roads suck (don’t know how else to put it) - 97% are in need of improvement, and in the meantime traffic jams and autos and trucks on roadways increase daily.

I live near a huge dam. We have almost 80,000 dams in the USA and over 3,500 need repair. It’s a damn shame we can’t afford to do anything about it. Last grump - the EPA estimates we need huge amounts of money to repair and upgrade wastewater systems. Without those repairs we could be in deep s–t, literally.

If you added everything here that I’ve mentioned (and this is just touching on the subject), we could use a minimum of $800 billion to begin the task of “Saving America”.

I do understand the fear many have about leaving Iraq. Let’s say, you have a bully on the block and though he hasn’t done anything to you, you decide to put him in his place, just to be safe. Okay. The bully and his immediate gang are ousted and everyone on the block seems to be getting back to normal.

However, things keep happening. Bad things. There are groups of people who don’t like what you’ve done, and they are fighting back, even with their neighbors. What do you do now?

Do you go back home and just let all hell break loose? You get the reputation of being weak and the bullies that you missed decide that if you can’t even handle this problem, and now you are chicken on top of it, maybe they can come to your house and take over….at least cause as much damage as they felt you did to their space.

It is a all food for thought. For now ALL WE CAN DO - is pray (if you so choose - and I do), try to accomplish your
individual goals with peaceful ACTION, and voice your opinions on what I think blogs truly have become: A Freedom Forum

geese-and-sparkles.jpg

I went for a walk as the sun was rising over the mountain. Spotted this family just cruising in the water. The sparkle of the sun’s reflection on the water was amazing, and the sight just too good to pass without a photo. Hope you enjoy.

Have an awesome DAY! Go for a walk. You never know what you will see!

The down side of technology - addendum

May 22, 2007

The separation of the population is increasing in, not baby steps, but giant steps.

“Divide and conquer.”
“A house divided against itself will not stand.”

I love the technology we have available. I think the internet is a fantastic source of information, a way to express one’s self, and a great way to meet new friends.

I also think there are a couple of things that make this segment of technology horrible. You all know what I mean. The dark side.

My answer to that is, don’t go to the dark side. Keep your kids safe and keep an eye on their activities too.

The other major problem with the internet and cell phones and all the tiny things we love to carry and watch and play on…..is that they are separating people. When I am on the computer, which is often, because I enjoy it so, my husband and I are not communicating.

Even if you have two computers in one room, you are still “separate” in thought and action. That goes for the children too. They opt to be on the computer, not only for school, but often times when they could be outside enjoying what’s left of our atmosphere!

I went for a walk a last week and saw a young mother coming towards me. She was pushing a baby stroller.
There was a young man, probably four or five walking next to her. She wasn’t showing him the ducks on the water. She wasn’t paying any attention to either of the children, but obsessed with talking on her cell phone.

That could have been a memorable day for the little guy.

When my husband and I took a short trip this weekend we went for a walk. Directly ahead of us was a couple. He was walking. She was talking on the cell phone with someone as she walked.

That’s not the first time I’ve seen this. It happens all over.

The worst is that the newly licensed drivers all now are qualified to drive with a cigarette in one hand , hold a cell with another, and the wheel with - ? - oh yes, the knee can handle that!

We are being separated as a people by technology - controlled by machines - and soon, I fear, Big Brother will be in absolute control. (If you haven’t read that old book, pick it up. It may be a bit slow comparatively to today’s writing, but you will get the idea!).

You can become addicted to these wonderful things. Please be sure you equate the value of the human being standing next to you, and the value of these inventions. Once a human is gone from this planet, that is
it for now! Machines are with us for the duration.
